NorCal Skydiving is a smaller, Cessna-182 drop zone that is nestled in California wine country in Cloverdale, California. They offer tandem skydiving, Accelerated Free Fall Training (AFF), and are open to all USPA B-licensed skydivers and up (unless you did your AFF at NorCal skydiving.
As a smaller drop zone, fun jumper loads can be limited but they make up for it with stunning views of the Pacific Ocean all the way to the Sierra Nevada mountains on a clear day. On the ride to altitude, you’ll see Pt. Reyes National Seashore, California’s largest natural lake, The San Francisco Bay, Napa Valley, and the Russian River.
NorCal Skydiving is the only skydiving center in the Bay Area where your friends and family can watch you gear up, board the plane, skydive, and land safely right before their own eyes. Before and after your jump you can relax at the barbecue pit and picnic tables.
It’s advised that you show up two hours before your scheduled jump so that you can get briefed, receive a quick period of instruction on skydiving and safety, and get onboard on time. Skydiving is very weather dependent so the earlier you make it, the more chance that you’ll avoid inclement weather that day. You should also plan to make a whole day of the jump just in case weather rolls in.
The temperature at altitude can be nearly 40° cooler than on the ground, so NorCal skydiving has jumpsuits available. You’re invited to wear whatever you typically do on the ground, but light athletic shoes are recommended.
Once complete with your jump, you’ll have the best Northern California has to offer, including world class wineries and breweries like Russian River Brewing and Lagunitas Brew Co.
NorCal Skydiving offers a unique experience in a fantastic location.
There are a lot of great places to grab food and drinks within a couple of miles of the airport and most of the staff are locals, so feel free to ask for recommendations on the best places to go. You can also bring your own food and fire up the grill at the picnic area.
